If you name a star after her she'll probably think you're an idiot. It would be right up there with buying her a book about horoscopes.
What's your budget? If it's under $50, your best bet would be accessories like a red led flashlight, or a book. You might also register her for a nearby star party.
In the $50-600 range you might consider an eyepiece if she has a telescope. Possibly 10x50 binoculars if she doesn't have some.
Worthwhile telescopes start around $200 and go up, but if you decide to go this route you should ask more questions, and possibly ask them at an astronomy specific web site like Cloudy Nights as it's easy to buy the wrong scope even if you're spending plenty of money.
In any event, it probably makes sense to involve her in the decision if you're spending more than a few dollars.

I wonder if we can use the doppler effect to detect a moon on this extrasolar planet. We now have an image of it. Don’t we just need a point of light that gets shifted in frequency as something rotates around it and tugs on it?

its not cheesey if thats what he lyks youv noticed what he likes and thats the secret to getting our boyfriends a present theyd like i normally watch myn c wot his wanting as his bday comes up & im the same as you atm iv got to get my fella somthing, and ignore the bj answer bj's are not that special to make a bday present i mean surly you dat just once a year on his bday although if you dont normally dress up then theres an idea but i dnt fink thats the kinda answer you wanted, id defo go with the star tho
