Easy. When you leave you home solar system you see millions of stars around you. The question is how to find another civilization? Well, easy! You don't have to go to every single star. All you need to do is simply hover your cursor on top of a star. A start that doesn't have a civilization on it won't react; however, a star that does will have a couple of blue lines that come out of it. This really is the best way of explaining how they look.
The same way when a planet has a rare item a couple of yellow lines come out it, a solar system that has a civilization on it gives off a few blue lines.

The Space Shuttle Endeavor, returning from space, suddenly turns up far off course and headed for impact in Los Angeles due to a momentary glitch in its navigation, positioning systems (GPS on overdrive), and a faulty ground transponder which resulted in the shuttle being off-course by 130 miles.

learn to use your scope. learn how to point it at things. how does it work on saturn? how about epsilon lyrae? m4? m13? m57? albireo? you should have no difficulty finding any of those.

Great article. I do have one question that I’d love to get your advice on though pertaining to the topic. How do you find tweeps who are more on your level of popularity?
